Magic Kingdom

- Kyle Moffatt -

Listed here are the seven lands of the Magic Kingdom and my recommended attractions, restaurants, and other stuff.  (Note: This is NOT a complete list of attractions... These are just the ones that I recommend.)  Enjoy!!

I have rated each recommended attraction with a number from 1-10.  ***These ratings are only my opinion!!***

Main Street, U.S.A.

Attractions-->

  • Walt Disney World Railroad (6) - This attraction is good to ride first because it gives you a feel for the area and is a nice way to tour the park. This is also a convenient way to get from one "land" to another.
  • Main Street Vehicles (4) - This attraction is not a "must-see" but is fun if you have the time.  This is also nice to view the park.

Restaurants-->

  • Main Street Bakery (5) - This is a nice place to have breakfast in the park.  This restaurant serves a variety of fresh pastries and other breakfast foods.
  • Crystal Palace (7) - This is another nice place to have breakfast.  I have given this restaurant a higher rating because it is a character breakfast.  This is a great place to meet Mickey and his pals.

Adventureland

Attractions-->

  • Jungle Cruise (8) - This is a classic Disney attraction that has been open since the park's opening in 1971.  If you have never been to Walt Disney World, then check this ride out.
  • The Enchanted Tiki Room--Under New Management (5) - This is a very unique attraction that has been remodeled from the original "Enchanted Tiki Room."  If you liked the classic attraction, you'll probably enjoy this one.  (Some of the same popular songs are still used in the new show.)
  • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin (6) - This is a hover ride similar to "Dumbo the Flying Elephant" in Fantasyland.  This ride was based on "Dumbo" but has a unique twist to it.  Not only can you control how high you go, but you can control your side-to-side movements.  If you like "Dumbo," then you'll probably enjoy this.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean (9) - This attraction is simply one of the best Magic Kingdom classics.  This adventurous 10-minute cruise is a Disneyland original.  This is a great ride to go on if you've never been to Walt Disney World before, and even if you have!!

Frontierland

Attractions-->

  • Splash Mountain (8) - This water ride based on Disney's 1946 film Song of the South.  It seems relaxing at first, with some scenes from the movie, a couple of small drops, and a great view of the park, but the climax of the ride is when you drop five stories to land safely back on the ground.  This is a must-see for thrill-seekers.  (Tip: I would definitely recommend getting a *FASTPASS for this attraction.  This line is almost always long.)
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (7) - This ride is from the wild west.  It combines twists, turns, hills, and cliffs to make a thrill-seeker's dream come true.
  • Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree (?) - The Diamond Horseshoe Saloon is packed with singing, dancing, and fun.  Goofy has taken over the joint and made it into a whole new show; however, there are now no walk-ins accepted. Now, there are showtimes.  I haven't seen the new show yet, so I don't know how I would rate it, but it sounds great.

Liberty Square

Attractions-->

  • The Hall of Presidents (6) - This realistic attraction is a classic 20-minute show on American history.  This attraction was recently remodeled to add our current president, George W. Bush.  (Tip: Even if you're not in the mood for history, this is a great place to cool off.  This sit-down theatre is always cold.)
  • The Haunted Mansion (8) - This classic Disney attraction is a fun-filled adventure through a haunted house.  This ride is filled with spooks and surprises.  (Tip: Sometimes this attraction looks like the line is neverending.  Don't let it fool you; it moves quickly because groups of people are let in at one time.)

Fantasyland

Attractions-->

  • Mickey's PhilharMagic (9) - This is a great new attraction that engulfs you in a 3-D world... not to be missed!!
  • Peter Pan's Flight (6) - This attraction is based on the classic Disney film, "Peter Pan."  Although this attraction is geared towards little kids, it is still fun for adults.
  • It's A Small World (6) - This attraction is another classic.  It shows dolls representing kids from around the world singing "It's a Small World" together and acting unified as one.
  • Mad Tea Party (7) - This wild, dizzy attraction takes guests on a wild ride spinning in teacups.  It is based on the Disney film, "Alice in Wonderland."
  • Snow White's Adventures (7) - Like the other, this is also based upon a classic Disney film.  It features scenes directly from the movie.
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (7) - This farely new WDW attraction took the place of "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride."  It is based upon the "Winnie the Pooh" series.
  • Wishes (10) - This new fireworks show replaced the "Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks" and it is much greater (See details on my home page)

Shops-->

  • Sir Mickey's (7) - This quaint little shop located in the heart of Fantasyland is a great place to get little souvenirs.

Mickey's Toontown Fair

Attractions-->

  • The Barnstormer (5) - This kid-friendly roller coaster combines twists and turns with the craziness of Goofy.
  • Donald's Boat (4) - This replication of Donald's Boathouse is a kid's play area and a great place to cool off.
  • Mickey's Country House (6) - This is where Mickey lives!!  Take a tour of the place where Mickey hangs out.
  • Minnie's Country House (6) - Located right next to Mickey's Country House, this house has lots of surprises... especially in the kitchen!!
  • Judge's Tent (4) - This is a great place to meet Mickey, but the lines are usually extremely long.

Tomorrowland

Attractions-->

  • Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin (8) - This interactive attraction allows you to hit targets with laser guns to destroy the evil side and help Buzz save the universe.  (Tip: This is a fun ride to compete with someone... your score is shown on your vehicle!!)
  • Tomorrowland Transit Authority (6) - Formerly known as the People Mover, this non-stop attraction allows you to hop on with little to no wait.  This is just a scenic tour of Tomorrowland from up high.  (Tip: If your not sure if you want to go on Space Mountain, this is a great place to check it out... this attraction goes into the Space Mountain building so you can see inside!!)
  • Space Mountain (8) - This galactic adventure is a roller-coaster in the dark... It is an extremely thrilling ride... (Tip: If you don't like being jerked around, then don't ride this ride... it can get a little bumpy, to say the least.)

Restaurants-->

  • Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe (7) - Although this is a fast-food place, as most of the restaurants in the Magic Kingdom, it is my favorite because of the alien entertainer, Sunny Eclipse.  (Note: There is usually a talking trash can outside of this restaurant.... haha)

Shops-->

  • Mickey's Star Traders (7) - This is one of the best places to go in the Magic Kingdom for Disney-themed gifts.

*FASTPASS - a FASTPASS is a ticket that you can get to cut the amount of time you have to wait for an attraction.  Only some attractions offer Disney's FASTPASS.  Check your park map for a list of attraction with Disney's FASTPASS. On the attractions that offer Disney's FASTPASS, you go up to the FASTPASS machines, enter your park ticket, and out will pop a FASTPASS ticket with a time frame stamped on it.  Come back to that attraction within that time frame and you will enter a FASTPASS line with little to no wait!! (Note: The FASTPASS machines will not allow you to have more than one FASTPASS per ticket until you either use it OR two hours have gone by.)
